Well done to our fine attendees at the first Barefoot Invitational on Saturday!
A crisp morning greeted us, with the sun up, no wind and the dew on the grass providing some welcome anaesthesia to the mud, sticks and stones we traversed over.
A rugged and varied 1.3k course through one of the steep fields of Cornwall park was chosen, and our brave athletes took to it with vigour. Ron King paced his run to perfection to take line honours over the three lap extravaganza.
Next Barefoot Run on Saturday 7th August we move to the otherside of Cornwall Park – meet at the corner of Campbell Road and Onehunga Mall at 730 am. It will be an out and back run, with a difference – you get rewarded for pacing your race evenly as well as for running fast. 5k distance total.
Feel free to bring a mate along and see you there!
