A massive effort from Myles, David, Todd and Sam on Saturday, all 4 boys took on the challenge and became Ironmen (did I miss anyone – hope not). It was a super day to witness as a spectator – lots of inspiration as these fellas and many others faced and overcame the challenge and the pain.
Hopefully we will get a rundown on the event from the guys themselves, but in the interim here are the dets:
2) J. Spence RIP
Well not quite, but its certainly worth mentioning that our own James Spence aka the Journeyman has suffered a cruel end to his 6 month preparation for the ultramarathon. His knee blew out after a 50k training session, just weeks prior to the event. Although James was laid low by this most unfortunate circumstance his resolve remains and he will be back, better than ever. He has graciously gifted the author with his entry. I shall do my utmost to bring honour to the Journeyman with a solid performance on March 20. Check www.taraweraultra.co.nz for details on the meatiest offroad run in the country. Other brothers are most welcome to join in on this beast.
This week: Stroke n Stride final Wednesday 6pm – a massively close series with 5 boys vying for our series title

TRAINING PACK RUN BACK ON AGAIN!
Next Tuesday (16th March @6pm) we fire up the Training Pack run.We had some beauts last Autumn/Winter and this year will be better. By popular request the start time has been pushed back to 6pm to allow as many as possible to make it. It is a hard session (you will be worked!), but is setup so that all abilities can workout together.
Start 6pm corner Puriri Drive and Greenlane road, Cornwall Park
10-30 minute hard session (e.g. Hill repeats, short intervals etc)
If you want to add more distance, then start earlier or add more at the end.
